Guardtime Federal is pleased to announce the recent National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) certification of the Black Lantern KSI appliance. Details of the certification are available on the NIAP web site.
The Black Lantern
network device provides an integrated hardware and software platform designed to mitigate both remote and physical attacks against a customer infrastructure and applications. Black Lantern incorporates a built-in KSI gateway, which allows for secure implementation of KSI-based data assurance and cybersecurity solutions with built-in active anti-tamper measures. This appliance enables customer facing network connectivity to participate in highly sensitive, even classified, domains while the external facing connectivity can interface with the unclassified KSI Blockchain infrastructure. This enables a truly unique cross-boundary trust anchor that can bridge any domains, assuring integrity across those domains using KSI Blockchain capabilities.
The US-developed Black Lantern has been deployed in networks in US defense contractor facilities to address a host of data integrity shortfalls in traditional IT infrastructure. High priority applications to address supply chain risk management, software development lifecycle integrity and network data integrity are being integrated to address specific enterprise and program use cases. Guardtime Federal looks forward to the proliferation of capabilities to assure the integrity of mission and support data that is under threat across the nation and across the expanse of DoD and IC mission operations.
The National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) oversees a national program to evaluate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Information Technology (IT) products for conformance to the international Common Criteria. For Black Lantern, Leidos provided the necessary rigorous testing in their Common Criteria Testing Laboratory; MITRE Corporation provided a validation team; and the National Information Assurance Partnership certified the process completion. Because NIAP is a member of the international 28-nation Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA), NIAP-validated products are also available to procurers in the CCRA member nations.
